Politeknik eLBajo Commodus Telah Berhasil Menerapkan Kampus Merdeka Merdeka Belajar, Banyak Mahasiswa Sudah Terserap di Dunia Kerja, Ini Belum Alumni Lho.. || eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic Has Successfully Implemented the “Campus Autonomy, Learning Autonomy” Initiative; Many Students Have Already Entered the Workforce—and They’re Not Even Graduates Yet!
Labuan Bajo, 18 Mei 2022_Di tahun ke-4 berdirinya Politeknik eLBajo Commodus sejak tanggal 4 April 2018, tercatat jumlah mahasiswa saat ini adalah total 465 orang, terdiri dari 286 orang mahasiswi dan 179 orang mahasiswa, yang terbagi dalam enam Program Studi yakni, DIV Manajemen Pemasaran Internasional, DIV Akuntansi Perpajakan, DIV Pengelolaan Perhotelan, DIII Ekowisata, DIII Teknologi Informasi, dan DIII Perhotelan. Serta telah memiliki lulusan sebanyak total 24 orang dari Prodi DIII Ekowisata dan DIII Pehotelan. || Labuan Bajo, May 18, 2022—In the fourth year since the founding of eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic on April 4, 2018, the current student enrollment stands at a total of 465 students, comprising 286 female students and 179 male students, distributed across six academic programs: the Associate Degree in International Marketing Management, the Associate Degree in Tax Accounting, the Associate Degree in Hospitality Management, the Diploma III in Ecotourism, the Diploma III in Information Technology, and the Diploma III in Hospitality. The college has also produced a total of 24 graduates from the Associate Degree in Ecotourism and the Associate Degree in Hospitality programs.
Dengan menerapkan Program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka, Politeknik eLBajo Commodus yang merupakan Perguruan Tinggi pertama di Labuan Bajo, Kabupaten Manggarai Barat, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur ini bersama dengan mitra-mitra industri yang ada di Labuan Bajo telah berkolaborasi dan berhasil dalam menyiapkan SDM unggul dan berdaya saing. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan total 24 mahasiswa yang masih kuliah di semester II dan IV pada beberapa program studi di Politeknik eLBajo Commodus sudah diterima bekerja di industri-industri, antara lain: Sudamala Resort Komodo, Sudamala Resort Seraya, Ayana Komodo Resort, Meruorah, Kado Bajo, The Jayakarta Suites Komodo Flores, La Prima Hotel, Eco Tree O’tel, Plataran Komodo Resort & Spa, Mama Komodo Hotel, dan Start-Up NoaBike. || By implementing the “Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka” Program, eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic—the first higher education institution in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province—has collaborated with industry partners in Labuan Bajo to successfully prepare high-caliber, competitive human resources. This is evidenced by the fact that a total of 24 students currently enrolled in their second and fourth semesters across several study programs at eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic have already been hired by various companies, including: Sudamala Resort Komodo, Sudamala Resort Seraya, Ayana Komodo Resort, Meruorah, Kado Bajo, The Jayakarta Suites Komodo Flores, La Prima Hotel, Eco Tree O’tel, Plataran Komodo Resort & Spa, Mama Komodo Hotel, and the startup NoaBike.
Christiyane Gerviani Mansen yang merupakan mahasiswi DIV Pengelolaan Perhotelan Semester 8 yang saat ini sudah menjabat sebagai Supervisor F&B di Sudamala Resort Komodo menyampaikan bahwa peranan Politeknik eLBajo Commodus bagi mahasiswa adalah sebagai jembatan yang membuka jalan dan kesempatan baru untuk mahasiswa bisa terjun langsung ke dunia industri. Hal yang sama juga disampaikan oleh Alberta Kantur, mahasiswi DIII Perhotelan semester 6 yang sebelumnya merupakan mahasiswi PKL dan juga sudah diterima bekerja di Sudamala Resort Komodo sebagai Waitress. || Christiyane Gerviani Mansen, an 8th-semester student in the DIV Hotel Management program who currently serves as an F&B Supervisor at Sudamala Resort Komodo, stated that the role of eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic for students is to serve as a bridge that opens new paths and opportunities for them to enter the industry directly. Alberta Kantur, a sixth-semester DIII Hospitality student who previously participated in an internship program and has since been hired by Sudamala Resort Komodo as a waitress, echoed this sentiment.
Sebagai kampus pertama yang ada di Kota Destinasi Wisata Super Prioritas, tentunya untuk mendukung langsung persiapan SDM pariwisata, tiga program studi Politenik eLBajo Commodus merupakan program studi inti pariwisata, yaitu: DIV Pengelolaan Perhotelan, DIII Ekowisata, dan DIII Perhotelan, lalu ada juga program studi yang menjadi pendukung dari pariwisata itu sendiri, yaitu: DIII Teknologi Informasi, DIV Manajemen Pemasaran Internasional, dan DIV Akuntansi Perpajakan yang menerapkan sistem perkuliahan 70% praktik dan 30% teori. Hal ini tentunya berpengaruh terhadap skill dan kompetensi yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa sebagai modal untuk bisa bersaing di dunia kerja. || As the first college located in a Super Priority Tourism Destination City, and to directly support the development of tourism human resources, the three degree programs at eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic are core tourism programs, namely: the DIV in Hotel Management, the DIII in Ecotourism, and the DIII in Hospitality. There are also programs that support the tourism sector itself, namely: the Associate Degree in Information Technology, the Bachelor’s Degree in International Marketing Management, and the Bachelor’s Degree in Tax Accounting, all of which follow a curriculum consisting of 70% practical training and 30% theory. This approach significantly enhances the skills and competencies of students, equipping them with the necessary foundation to compete in the job market.
Ibu Maria Agusta, HR Manager Sudamala Resort Komodo & Seraya dalam sesi interview bersama kami menyampaikan bahwa hubungan kerjasama antara Politeknik eLBajo Commodus dan Sudamala Resort sudah sangat link & match, sesuai dengan perjanjian kerjasama secara tertulis dan telah dilaksanakan poin-poin ruang lingkupnya, antara lain: penerimaan mahasiswa PKL, pelaksanaan kelas industri dengan menghadirkan praktisi dari industri sebagai dosen tamu, dan juga tentunya perekrutan tenaga kerja di industri bagi mahasiswa Politeknik eLBajo Commodus. Ibu Maria Agusta juga menyampaikan alasan dibukanya perekrutan tenaga kerja bagi mahasiswa Politeknik eLBajo Commodus dilihat dari profil Politeknik dengan konsentrasi program studinya di bidang perhotelan yang mana sesuai bidang usaha yang dimiliki oleh Sudamala Resort Komodo & Seraya. || Ms. Maria Agusta, HR Manager at Sudamala Resort Komodo & Seraya, stated during our interview that the partnership between eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic and Sudamala Resort is already highly aligned and complementary, in accordance with the written cooperation agreement, and that the key points of its scope have been implemented, including: accepting students for internships, conducting industry-based classes featuring industry professionals as guest lecturers, and, of course, recruiting eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic students for positions within the industry. Ms. Maria Agusta also explained the rationale behind opening job recruitment opportunities for eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic students, noting that the polytechnic’s profile—with its academic programs focused on hospitality—aligns with the business operations of Sudamala Resort Komodo & Seraya.
Bapak Abdul Khoifan, selaku Manager Operasional Start-Up NoaBike yang juga menerima mahasiswa Politeknik eLBajo Commodus untuk magang serta membuka perekrutan tenaga kerja, menyampaikan bahwa saat ini tercatat 2 mahasiswa yang sudah diterima bekerja di Start-Up NoaBike. Selain itu kampus dan Start-Up NoaBike juga berkolaborasi dalam pengembangan model bisnis terutama dalam platform penyewaan sepeda listrik NoaBike. Bapak Abdul juga menyampaikan apresiasinya untuk kehadiran Politeknik eLBajo Commodus yang menyiapkan SDM unggul dan kompeten serta sudah siap untuk beradaptasi dengan dunia industri. Mahasiswa Program Studi DIV Manajemen Pemasaran Internasional semester 6, yakni Florentinus Darman yang juga sudah diterima bekerja sebagai Front Desk Crew di Start-Up NoaBike mengatakan dirinya sudah menjadi salah satu bukti nyata bahwa Politeknik eLBajo Commodus telah berhasil dalam mencetak sumber daya yang dapat bersaing di dunia industri. || Mr. Abdul Khoifan, Operations Manager at the NoaBike startup—which also accepts eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic students for internships and is currently recruiting employees—stated that two students have already been hired by NoaBike. In addition, the college and the NoaBike startup are also collaborating on business model development, particularly for the NoaBike electric bike rental platform. Mr. Abdul also expressed his appreciation for eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic, which prepares outstanding and competent human resources who are ready to adapt to the industrial world. Florentinus Darman, a sixth-semester student in the International Marketing Management DIV program who has also been hired as a Front Desk Crew member at the NoaBike startup, said that he is living proof that eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic has succeeded in producing talent capable of competing in the industrial world.
Mitra-mitra industri Politeknik eLBajo Commodus juga memberikan masukan agar mahasiswa Politeknik eLBajo Commodus bisa meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, profesionalitas, kejujuran, ketahanan fisik, kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam bahasa asing, dan juga kemampuan dalam mengoperasikan komputer. Hal tersebut disampaikan oleh mitra guna menjadi bahan evaluasi dalam peningkatan softskill serta hardskill mahasiswa Politeknik eLBajo Commodus ke depannya. || eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic’s industry partners also provided feedback to help eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic students improve their self-confidence, professionalism, integrity, physical endurance, foreign language communication skills, and computer skills. The partners shared this feedback to serve as a basis for evaluating how to enhance the soft skills and hard skills of eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic students in the future.
