Kolaborasi PLC & Binus University di Kegiatan ICDP 2024 || PLC and Binus University Collaboration at the 2024 ICDP Event
Labuan Bajo, 20 Agustus_Kolaborasi BINUS University bersama Politeknik eLBajo Commodus dalam kegiatan International Community Development Program (ICDP) 2024 berhasil diselenggarakan pada 13-22 Agustus 2024 dengan fokus pada pemberdayaan sektor Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) melalui ide implementatif mahasiswa yang berbasis pada Tujuan Pengembangan Berkelanjutan (TPB). || Labuan Bajo, August 20—The collaboration between BINUS University and eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic for the 2024 International Community Development Program (ICDP) was successfully held on August 13–22, 2024, with a focus on empowering the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector through students’ actionable ideas based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Kegiatan ICDP 2024 memberi pengalaman unik bagi mahasiswa domestik serta internasional dalam memperkaya studinya dengan mengidentifikasi tantangan yang dihadapi lalu berkolaborasi dalam upaya merumuskan solusi yang dapat meningkatkan kesejahtraan dan dampak sektor UMKM di masyarakat. Mahasiswa internasional yang berasal dari perguruan tinggi terkemuka seperti University New South Wales di Australia dan Universiti Teknologi Malaysia diharapkan membentuk kolaborasi lintas negara yang meningkatkan pemahaman antara budaya dan menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang kaya. || The ICDP 2024 program offers a unique experience for both domestic and international students to enrich their studies by identifying challenges and collaborating to develop solutions that can improve the well-being and impact of the MSME sector on society. International students from leading universities such as the University of New South Wales in Australia and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia are expected to form cross-border collaborations that foster cross-cultural understanding and create a rich learning environment.
Kota Labuan Bajo dipilih karena peluang pembelajaran yang dapat memperkenalkan peserta terhadap pentingnya pemahaman budaya lokal agar dapat diintegrasikan dengan teori, permasalahan di masyarakat, dan konsep TPB untuk menghasilkan solusi melalui peran teknologi. || The city of Labuan Bajo was chosen because of the learning opportunities it offers to introduce participants to the importance of understanding local culture so that they can integrate this understanding with theory, real-world issues, and the TPB concept to develop solutions through the use of technology.
“Tahun ini, ICDP yang diselenggarakan di Labuan Bajo merupakan harapan agar mahasiswa berkesempatan untuk mengeksplorasi inovasinya dalam mengembangkan sektor UMKM dengan mengintegrasikan tema TPB. Inovasi ini diharapkan dapat diadopsi oleh UMKM sehingga tidak hanya meningkatkan kualitas usahanya serta memberi dampak yang berarti bagi pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat sekitar,” ujar Debby Sonita Lubis, S.Psi., M.Soc.Sc., selaku Project Lead serta Internationalization Office Associate Manager di BINUS University. || “This year’s ICDP, held in Labuan Bajo, aims to provide students with the opportunity to explore their innovations in developing the MSME sector by integrating the SDGs. “It is hoped that these innovations will be adopted by MSMEs, thereby not only improving the quality of their businesses but also making a meaningful impact on the economic growth of the surrounding community,” said Debby Sonita Lubis, S.Psi., M.Soc.Sc., Project Lead and Associate Manager of the Internationalization Office at BINUS University.
Kepala Desa Batu Cermin, Kecamatan Komodo, Kabupaten Manggarai Barat, NTT, Marianus Yono Jehanu menyerukan hal senada dimana kolaborasi BINUS University dengan Politeknik eLBajo Commodus dapat mendorong kemanjuan UMKM khususnya di Desa Batu Cermin yang merupakan salah satu tempat favorit wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Labuan Bajo. || Marianus Yono Jehanu, the village head of Batu Cermin, Komodo Subdistrict, West Manggarai Regency, NTT, echoed this sentiment, noting that the collaboration between BINUS University and eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic can drive the progress of MSMEs, particularly in Batu Cermin Village, which is one of the favorite destinations for tourists visiting Labuan Bajo.
