Politeknik eLBajo Commodus Siap Menjadi Mitra SMK D-2 Fast Track || eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic Is Ready to Become a Partner for the D-2 Fast Track Vocational High School Program

Labuan Bajo, 18 Juni 2021 – Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Vokasi (Dirjen Diksi), Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset dan Teknologi (Kemendikbudristek), Bapak Wikan Sakarinto, S.T., M.Sc., PhD, berkunjung ke kampus Politeknik eLBajo Commodus yang adalah kampus pertama dan satu-satunya di Kabupaten Manggarai Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur. || Labuan Bajo, June 18, 2021 – The Director General of Vocational Education (Dirjen Diksi), Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Mr. Wikan Sakarinto, S.T., M.Sc., PhD, visited the eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic campus, which is the first and only campus in West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.

Dirjen Diksi Bersama dengan Sekretaris Direktorat Jendral Pendidikan Vokasi Dr. Henri Togar H. Tambunan, S.E., MA; Direktur Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Dr. Ir. M. Bakrun, MM; Direktur Pendidikan Tinggi Vokasi & Profesi Dr. Benny Bandanadjaya; S.T., M.T ; serta didampingi Ketua LLDikti wilayah VIII Prof. Dr. I Nengah Dasi Astawa, menyampaikan bahwa seiring dengan penetapan Labuan Bajo sebagai Destinasi Pariwisata Super Prioritas, maka SMK didorong untuk segera meluncurkan program D-2 Fast Track. Hal ini untuk meningkatkan soft skill para pelajar. Dengan demikian, lulusan SMK-D2 tidak perlu lagi mengikuti pelatihan atau training di industri ketika masa awal bekerja. || The Director General of Vocational Education, together with the Secretary of the Directorate General of Vocational Education, Dr. Henri Togar H. Tambunan, S.E., M.A.; the Director of Vocational High Schools, Dr. Ir. M. Bakrun, M.M.; the Director of Vocational and Professional Higher Education, Dr. Benny Bandanadjaya; S.T., M.T.; and accompanied by the Chair of the Regional Higher Education Coordination Agency (LLDikti) Region VIII, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Dasi Astawa, announced that following the designation of Labuan Bajo as a Super-Priority Tourism Destination, vocational high schools (SMK) are encouraged to immediately launch the D-2 Fast Track program. This initiative aims to enhance students’ soft skills. Consequently, SMK-D2 graduates will no longer need to undergo on-the-job training in the industry during their initial employment period.

“Banyak anak SMK yang ingin setelah tamat langsung kerja. Maka dalam program ini siswa cukup kuliah setengah tahun. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan magang selama satu tahun di industry dan langsung mendapatkan gelar Diploma II,” ujar Bapak Wikan Sakarinto saat memaparkan kebijakan Ditjen Diksi kepada para Kepala SMK dan Civitas Politeknik eLBajo Commodus, Jumat (18/6/2021). || “Many vocational high school students want to start working immediately after graduation. Therefore, under this program, students only need to attend classes for half a year. This is followed by a one-year internship in the industry, after which they immediately receive a Diploma II,” said Mr. Wikan Sakarinto while presenting the Directorate General of Vocational Education’s policy to vocational high school principals and the faculty and staff of eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic on Friday, June 18, 2021.

Di sisi lain Politeknik eLBajo Commodus telah siap menjadi mitra program D-2 Fast Track untuk SMK di seluruh Manggarai Raya. Hal ini ditunjang dengan telah terciptanya kerjasama dengan DUDI di Kota Labuan Bajo dan sekitarnya. Seperti Sudamala Resort Seraya dan Komodo, Ayana Komodo Resort, Puri Sari Beach Hotel, The Jayakarta Suites Komodo Flores, Luwansa Beach Resort Labuan Bajo, Inaya Bay Komodo, Sylvia Resort Komodo, Bintang Flores Hotel, dan beberapa industri pariwisata lainnya. || Meanwhile, eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic is ready to serve as a partner for the D-2 Fast Track program for vocational high schools throughout the Greater Manggarai region. This is supported by existing partnerships with industry and business entities in Labuan Bajo and the surrounding areas. These include Sudamala Resort Seraya and Komodo, Ayana Komodo Resort, Puri Sari Beach Hotel, The Jayakarta Suites Komodo Flores, Luwansa Beach Resort Labuan Bajo, Inaya Bay Komodo, Sylvia Resort Komodo, Bintang Flores Hotel, and several other tourism businesses.

Bapak Wikan Sakarinto mengungkapkan bahwa program SMK-D2 Fast Track akan sangat menguntungkan industri pariwisata. Sebab mereka akan langsung mendapatkan tenaga kerja yang memiliki kompetensi sesuai dengan yang diinginkan. Dan untuk mewujudkan program tersebut di Labuan Bajo, beliau menyarankan agar kurikulum pembelajaran harus berdasarkan kajian bersama antara pihak industri, SMK, dan Politeknik eLBajo Commodus. “Melalui program ini akan tercipta sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas. Sehingga ke depan bukan orang luar yang menguasai Labuan Bajo tetapi anak-anak Manggarai,” katanya. || Mr. Wikan Sakarinto stated that the SMK-D2 Fast Track program will greatly benefit the tourism industry, as it will provide them with a workforce that possesses the exact competencies they need. To implement this program in Labuan Bajo, he suggested that the curriculum be developed through a joint study involving industry representatives, vocational high schools (SMK), and the eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic. “This program will produce high-quality human resources. As a result, in the future, it will be the young people of Manggarai—not outsiders—who will lead Labuan Bajo,” he said.

“Dengan demikian penciptaan SDM di Nusa Tenggara Timur yang unggul, terampil dan berkompeten dapat segera terwujud, demi mendukung visi besar pemerintah membangun Labuan Bajo menjadi Destinasi Pariwisata Super Prioritas.” Demikian juga disampaikan oleh Bapak Wikan Sakarinto dalam kunjungannya ke kampus yang telah memiliki 6 program studi, yaitu Sarjana Terapan Pengelolaan Perhotelan, Sarjana Terapan Akuntansi Perpajakan, Sarjana Terapan Manajemen Pemasaran Internasional, Diploma III Perhotelan, Diploma III Ekowisata, serta Diploma III Teknologi Informasi. || “Thus, the development of outstanding, skilled, and competent human resources in East Nusa Tenggara can be realized soon, in support of the government’s grand vision to develop Labuan Bajo into a Super-Priority Tourism Destination.” This was also conveyed by Mr. Wikan Sakarinto during his visit to the campus, which currently offers six academic programs: Bachelor of Applied Science in Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Applied Science in Tax Accounting, Bachelor of Applied Science in International Marketing Management, Associate Degree in Hospitality, Associate Degree in Ecotourism, and Associate Degree in Information Technology.

Dalam kesempatan yang sama, Ketua Yayasan Bangkit Anak NegeriKu Ibu Noviana Halim juga menyampaikan bahwa untuk membangun sebuah lembaga pendidikan yang berkualitas dibutuhkan orang yang “gila” dan nekat. “Kami percaya Politeknik eLBajo Commodus akan menjadi Politeknik yang besar dan bertaraf internasional,” katanya. || On the same occasion, the Chairwoman of the Bangkit Anak NegeriKu Foundation, Mrs. Noviana Halim, also noted that building a high-quality educational institution requires people who are “crazy” and daring. “We believe that eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic will become a major, world-class polytechnic,” she said.

Bahkan saat ini sudah ada 7 orang mahasiswa semester 2 dan 4 yang telah diterima bekerja di industri. Ini merupakan salah satu bukti bahwa Politeknik eLBajo Commodus telah menjalankan program merdeka belajar dan kampus merdeka untuk para mahasiswa. Dalam pelaksanaannya, PLC melalui MoU dengan beberapa industri, kemudian menyusun suatu kurikulum hasil diskusi bersama dengan pihak industri untuk selanjutnya diterapkan secara khusus bagi mahasiswa yang lolos seleksi penerimaan kerja di industri bersangkutan. Sehingga dalam proses kemudian, pihak kampus akan memberikan pengakuan terhadap kerja mahasiswa tersebut sebagai bahan penilaian berdasarkan kurikulum yang telah disusun bersama. || In fact, there are already seven students in their second and fourth semesters who have been hired by companies in the industry. This is proof that eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic has successfully implemented the “Merdeka Belajar” and “Kampus Merdeka” programs for its students. In practice, PLC enters into Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various industries and then develops a curriculum based on joint discussions with industry partners. This curriculum is specifically applied to students who pass the job selection process at the relevant companies. Consequently, the college recognizes the students’ work as part of their evaluation based on the jointly developed curriculum.

Direktur Politeknik eLBajo yang baru saja dilantik pada 18 Juni 2021, Prof. Dr. I Putu Astawa, S.E., M.M berkomitmen agar PLC menjadi unggul dan berdaya saing di level nasional maupun internasional.
