Labuan Bajo (March 14, 2023) — To celebrate its Lustrum and 5th Anniversary, the eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic campus held a community service event and blood drive as a gesture of gratitude for the five years since the vocational college was established in Labuan Bajo.
This social service activity, organized by the campus known as PLC, involved providing donations to the Binongko and Bruderan MOP Cowang Dereng orphanages. Meanwhile, a blood drive held in collaboration with the West Manggarai Regency branch of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) took place on Friday, March 10, 2023. This event was attended by members of the eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic academic community, including students, faculty, and other educational staff.
PLC Deputy Director II Andy Iwan Iswanto, who helped oversee the event, stated that “To celebrate its fifth anniversary, the eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic is organizing a series of activities dedicated to the community and humanitarian causes. These include social service and blood donation drives, as well as various activities involving the community.”
Ni Wayan Noviana Safitri, as Chair of the Anniversary Committee, began her remarks by saying, “Thank you to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and all the donors for contributing to humanitarian efforts by donating blood and supporting the Lustrum and the 5th Anniversary of PLC.”
Now in its fifth year, eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic—which remains the only higher education institution in Labuan Bajo—is increasingly establishing itself as a center for education and character development for the youth of East Nusa Tenggara. This is evident in the overarching theme of its Lustrum and 5th Anniversary celebrations: “PLC OUR HOME.”
As an institution dedicated to educating the nation’s youth in East Nusa Tenggara, PLC has made various efforts and will continue to strive to provide the best education to produce outstanding human resources, an education that benefits the industry and business sectors, and to become a university that is increasingly connected to the local community.
A series of events for the Lustrum and the 5th Anniversary of eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic took place from March 4 to April 4, 2023, including a Basketball Competition, a Vocal Group Contest, the Campus Ambassador Election, an IT Olympiad, the Future Leaders English Debate Competition (FLEDC), a Blood Donation Social Service Event, a visit to an orphanage, a community service event at the Golomori Chapel, a workshop on human resource development in Mabar based on village potential, a Thanksgiving Mass and Perenunang Night, as well as a PLC Open House that will be open to the general public.
