Labuan Bajo, 19 January 2024_The Directorate General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology together with financial support from the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) have launched the Partnership Ecosystem Strengthening Program for the Development of Vocational Innovation Based on Regional Potential of East Nusa Tenggara which aims to realize harmony through synergistic partnerships to build a forum for collaboration between vocational education units and stakeholders in the regions.
As a further follow-up to this program, the Kupang State Agricultural Polytechnic as Chair of the Vocational Higher Education Consortium for the East Nusa Tenggara Region together with the Kupang State Polytechnic and the eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) by inviting the Pentahelix Stakeholders of West Manggarai Regency as a historic step in supporting the development of the vocational education sector in East Nusa Tenggara by utilizing the unique potential and diversity of local culture. Apart from that, this program also aims to create an innovative environment that encourages collaboration between educational institutions, industry, communities and government, which is expected to provide a major impetus for the development of reliable and competitive human resources.
The Pentahelix Stakeholders who attended this activity included the West Manggarai Regency Bappeda, West Manggarai Regency KADIN, West Manggarai Regency Nakertranskopukm Service, West Manggarai Regency PKO Service, West Manggarai Regency Parekrafbud Service, West Manggarai Regency DTPHP Service, Komodo National Park Hall, IHGMA (Indonesian Hotel General Manager Association), Sudamala Resort, SMK 3 Komodo, SMK 1 Labuan Bajo, Media Pos Kupang, Chairman of the Kope Oles Todo Kongkol Kaper Studio, Bintari Foundation, and Kupang Politani Alumni.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Lilik Sudiajeng M.Erg as the Consortium Expert Team, stated, “This program is a significant step in advancing vocational education in East Nusa Tenggara. And the expected output from this activity will continuously become a Policy Brief for the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Government in producing innovations in the field of vocational education in order to build the realization of a sovereign Indonesia, based on data-based methods and solutions as well as real conditions from the discussions that took place today with Pentahelix Stakeholders was present today.
Director of eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Dasi Astawa, M.Si; added, “We are grateful for the trust of the Directorate General of Vocational Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to PLC to collaborate together with the Kupang State Agricultural Polytechnic and the Kupang State Polytechnic which allows the implementation of this program to take place today. We are confident that this program will have a significant positive impact on the development of vocational education in this area.”
On this occasion, the output achieved from the Partnership Ecosystem Strengthening Program was the signing of a cooperation agreement between eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic and the West Manggarai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) chaired by Mr. Ignasius Charles Angliwarman, S.Si.
